My name’s Nicola and I’m currently based in Cardiff, Wales. I created this website because watching films and talking about films is how I function.
I watch all kinds of films from indies to blockbusters, horrors and romcoms and everything in between. I absolutely adore animation and the horror genre.
Some of my favourite filmmakers include: Spike Lee, Hayao Miyazaki, Satoshi Kon, David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick, Isao Takahata, Dario Argento and Powell and Pressburger.
I am passionate about women in film and have always been drawn to complex female characters (e.g Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard and Martha in Who‘s Afraid of Virginia Woolf to name a couple). My pipe-dream is to have an Original Screenplay Oscar on my mantle piece one day and I hope to do this with a film that focuses on a strong female protagonist.
